Information about Clinics for Players and Coaches

There are many clinics to teach playing or coaching skills. The following are some that have been attended by and recommended by WESAC members in years past.

Softball Clinics for girls every Saturday, Jan 26 - Mar 23 (except March 9) at Central Gym. 2:00 - 4:00 for grade 4 - 7, 4:00 - 6:00 for grades 8 - 12.. The National Youth Sports Coaches Alliance is presenting clinics geared toward helping coaches create a positive experience for the kids. The "course" is two classes - one for general coaching skills and the other for sport specific skills. WESAC coaches at Pee Wee and older are required to be NYSCA certified to participate in post season tournaments (a MPLS Park & Rec rule). WESAC recommends the certification for coaches at all levels. Parents who want to help their kids can also benefit from coming to the skills clinics, especially the hands on T-Ball clinic at Kenwood. The dates for 2002 will be announced soon.
