Baseball Volunteer Opportunity
Coach
This activity is the most fun and gets the most respect from the community. It is also the biggest commitment of time and the most responsibility. A team can make use of a team manager and other volunters to lighten the load on the coach, but the recruitment of those individuals is generally up to the coach.
WESAC and the Mpls Park & Rec Board run clinics that will teach you to be a good coach, even if you have no experience with baseball of softball. There are always coaches each year who have little or no knowledge of the finer points of baseball, and it doesn't matter. The most important thing is being able to have fun, be a positive role model for the kids and keep the kids reasonably well organized in practice and games.
