The table above contains some basic information about the opportunities for participation in youth sports (through 8th grade) in the WESAC area. This is not meant to be an exhaustive listing. Information contained on sports other than WESAC baseball and softball may be out of date or otherwise inaccurate. The following sports are included: Basketball, Soccer, Figure Skating, Hockey, Cross Country Skiing, Badminton, Golf, Wrestling, Gymnastics, Volleyball, Tennis and of course Baseball and Softball.

Since space is tight in the table, many cryptic descriptions are used. In all cases if the information is not clear, contact the Local Authority shown in the table for more information. If a table entry shows up in blue there is additional information that can be accessed by clicking on the name. Please do not contact WESAC Baseball regarding other sports.

The Division Column may be age based only or age and ability based or ability based only depending on the sport involved. Grade is defined as the grade your child is currently in, or if it is the summer, the grade your child was most recently in (NOT NEXT FALL!). Some sports (figure skating and cross country skiing for example) are based entirely on ability and the grade level is just a guideline. Some sports (Westside soccer and travelling baseball for example) use a birthday segregation that may not line up exactly with the grade levels shown. In particular, if you have August birthdays, check with the Local Authority. The gender column shows whether the sport is for separate teams or combined teams. C stands for CoRec, G is Girls and B is Boys. For all Mpls Park & Rec Programs, girls may play in a boys division at any age and boys may play in a girls division through age 11. For all other sports, check with the Local Authority

The Local Authority would be the body that collects fees, arranges for coaches etc. The League Authority would be the body that makes the schedules and rules etc. The Season is approximately when games are scheduled. Practices may require additional commitments. Days of the week are game days. Practices will be arranged. If days are separated by a "/", it is eiher or. For example, T-Ball is W/TH followed by Sa. There are games every Saturday and either Wednesday or Thursday, but not both in the same week.

Fees shown are the required fee for the season. If uniforms are required but not included in the fee, a second line beginning with a "U" gives the cost of the uniform. Additional equipment such as shoes, mitts, skates etc. are required. Check with the local authority for details. WESAC Baseball provides equipment free of charge for players on scholarship.

The Scholarship, or Fee Waiver, Policy is shown. NQA stands for No Questions Asked and indicates that a request for a fee waiver is automatically granted. BA stands for Board Approval and indicates that there is some approval process required. U stands for Unknown or Unclear. Please contact the Local Authority for more details.
